new york city subway map maze(s)
The maze below is one of the first complex, large mazes that I have ever made. I used the current NYC subway map as the base and built mazes on top of it, making up rules and only changing a few things. The crazy thing is I used Microsoft Paint for this maze and did it one pixel at a time. Because I was working full time I was only able to draw and design it after work and on weekends. I took many months to complete. It is based off of the 2012 or 2013 subway map so if you compare it to the map today it is different !
The maze is actually 10 mazes imbedded onto the map ! For this reason there are 2 sections that explain how to solve the maze and what the mazes are. Let’s look at each of them close-up ! Because this is a raster image the size is the size.
Maze Rules: So yes, you can ride the subway if you follow the rules of getting on and off and transferring outlined below: Basically you need an arrow or a white dot to enter/exit/transfer.
The 10 Possible Mazes: I used the service note area to list the 10 mazes available to solve. Each Start/Goal is a name of a place/borough on the existing map.
The Maze: The size is approx. 27 inches x 32 inches. When I made it I made sure that all mazes could be solved, BUT there is NO solution available here for download so you are on your own if you take this challenge ! I would consider this one of the harder set of mazes on the site - especially if you try to solve all 10 mazes !
