bagan temple maze
This maze of a temple in Bagan, Myanmar is based off of a picture I took when I visited there. If you have never heard of the city it is home to thousands of temples and pagodas. The exact number is in dispute which would make sense if you visit the city and see just how many there are. The city is a UNESCO world heritage site. I obviously visited during a time of peace. Here are some photos from my trip to give you an idea of the city (click to enlarge).
Temple photo: And specifically, here is the photo that I used to make the maze below.
The Maze: I started this maze, one of my first, then abandoned it for a few years. You can read about that here. Eventually I compromised with my initial vision to finish the maze which I present below. It has a different look than most mazes I have done, but I hope you like it ! This is also one of my few mazes that includes a border, and also one of the few (and possibly the only large maze) where the sky is mazed.
This became part of my Case Study#8 - Improving Previous Mazes when I decided to add color to the maze. I wanted to see if it improved how the maze looked. Iām not sure I like it any more than the original. There is something about the simplicity of black and white that I like.
