Maze of the Week #50 - Welcome to Las Vegas Sign Maze

Maze of the week #50 features a maze of the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love watching documentaries about the formation of the city by the mafia in the middle of the desert And today I present to you a maze of one of the many famous signs in Las Vegas. This particular sign went up in 1959…and oddly enough sits outside the city limits in Paradise. Or is that actually NOT noteworthy… shouldn’t the sign be at the border of the city limits and possibly never actually in the city ? Apparently this one is not at the border. To read more about the sign’s history check this blog out. And yes - it is on the National List of historic places !

Or, you know you can just watch this video !

Let’s look at a photo of the sign from Lindsay Scott / pixabay.

Maze of the Week #49 - Temple of Kukulcán Maze

Maze of the week #49 features a maze of the Temple of Kukulcán at Chichen Itza in Mexico. The more you learn about this pyramid, the more amazing it becomes. The acoustics mimic the sounds of local birds. There is a feathered serpent that crawls down the pyramid near the equinoxes. It has a hidden component (no spoilers) inside it. I want to visit ! You can read about it here, but I suggest you invest the time in the episode below !

There have been 90+ episodes of the TV Series Unearthed and the very first featured this pyramid, a wonderful honor. If you have time to sit and watch the full episode (43 minutes) it is worth it.

Let’s look at a photo of the pyramid:

The Maze: One version. Black and White. Large paper is better to solve. In fact because I went all out on the details of individual stones….it is even difficult to tell this is a maze.

Maze of the Week #48 - Burj Al Arab Hotel Maze

Maze of the week #48 features the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, UAE. It is one of the tallest hotels in the world and sits on an artificial island. It originally opened on December 1, 1999. The wonderful architecture is meant to resemble a yacht and I’m sure this is not your first time seeing the building ! It also might just be the most luxurious hotel in the world !!! Learn more about the hotel on Wikipedia.

Check out this video to see learn more about the hotel:

Let’s look at a photo of the building:

The Maze: I did version in black and white. It is a large format maze; in order to solve it you will need to print it on poster sized paper.

Maze of the Week #47 - Nampa Rollerdrome Sign Maze

Maze of the week #47 features the sign of the Nampa Rollerdrome in Nampa, Idaho. Opened in 1948, this is sure to bring back memories of your childhood. Browsing their website made me want to plan party, but of course what I really like is the colorful vintage sign out front which I made into a maze.

The last roller rink still open in Southern Idaho according to this video:

You can see a portion of the sign on their website, but here are some links to view it:
