Maze of the Week #65 - Bridge Guardian Maze

It’s that time of year again. Baseball season starts March 30th. Maze of the week #65 was my attempt to celebrate that fact. It is a maze of the Guardian from the bridge that overlooks Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Specifically it is one of the Guardians of Traffic sculptures (1932). You can read about them in Cleveland Magazine or check out this short video about the name change:

The Maze: One color. Not my best maze. I made this a few years ago and never used it (until now). But then I made a second version…

Maze of the Week #64 - Leeds Castle Maze

I have always wanted to do a castle maze and Maze of the week #64 does just that with the Leeds Castle Maze located in Kent, England. It will not be the last castle I maze this year ! While a castle was first built on the site in 857, the look has changed many times of the centuries. In fact there is a YouTube video showing just how it has changed during the years:

Maze of the Week #63 - George Rogers Clark Memorial Maze

Maze of the week #63 takes us to a monument in Vincennes, Indiana with the George Rogers Clark Memorial maze. I liked the building and that is usually enough for me to consider a maze. GRD was a famous soldier in the early US. You can read about GRD the man, or the memorial on the Wikipedia page.

Or just watch this video to see the building and learn about it’s history:

Maze of the Week #62 - Windmill Maze

Maze of the week #62 is of a traditional windmill. I had been thinking about what structures would make interesting mazes and I always came back to a windmill but never followed through until now. I really enjoyed seeing them up close when I visited Belgium, and specifically in Bruges. While this is not a specific windmill (the most famous being on top of the Moulin Rouge in Paris) if you want to learn more about them check out wikipedia.

National Geographic makes nice videos:

Photos: Both taken by me of the aforementioned Moulin Rouge and a windmill in Bruges (which is a wonderful city to visit BTW).

The Maze: When I completed this in black and white I wasn’t satisfied so I added a color version that I prefer. Most mills have neutral colorings but I found a few photos of them with colored roofs.
